BUSY before Vacation

Why is it you always come up with about 60 new projects and 72 old projects you need to complete before you go away on vacation - with only 4 days to get it all done? Jeff will come home on Friday we leave Thursday night (for Lanai and Oahu), so we won't see him still for another 10 days and since he is going to "officially" be our room mate we need to make some room for him and his stuff! Since last time he was here was supposed to be temporary, I never even took all our storage junk out of the closet in his room, so that needs to be done. His car needs to be washed and filled with gas, his suit taken to the cleaners so he can wear it to a wedding and the garage reorganized so we can fit his bike and equipment in and still be able to close the door. Blah Blah Blah.... then there is Bunco tonight happy hour Wednesday night... washing, packing... Really I am complaining but not complaining. What good problems to have! Here it is a beautiful Tuesday morning in HOT southern California, the window are open already at 6:30 am the birds are singing and Rich is off for a ride on his bike. Life is so much better than January... Although January was a good month just different - that is Rich's new birthday month according to the nurses at City of Hope. When you get your bone marrow transplant that day becomes your new birthday - can't wait to celebrate that 2nd BD in 2009.

Mike and Meghan are back from St. Thomas and they say "it was the best vacation of their lives". WOW so cool can not wait to see pictures. Speaking of pictures I am almost done with my Aloha Ohana (family) Vacation book for my friend. I will post pictures hopefully before my trip. It has surf board tags sticking out of the top of the book... WAY WAY CUTE.... even for me... Have a blessed day and week and happy Mothers Day too since we will be flying home that day....

YIPPPPEEE He has Done IT

Jeff has finished his bike ride - he called yesterday and they had a police escort into Key West Florida. You can read the blog and see a little end video at the link which is listed on the proceeding blog post.... We are so proud of him. I must say when I saw the little video clip this morning his face looks so much thinner and in the pictures he looks to be in great shape. Now just a short train ride (if 4 to 5 days is short) home. He won't fly because this entire adventure was all about the environment. My question which pollutes less - a jet plane in 5 to 6 hours or 4 days riding a train. Anyone have any studies on this question. PROUD MOM & DAD! yes, we are joyful and delighted at what our 30 year old baby has done.

Mike and Meghan are enjoying their vacation time in St. Thomas, wish I was there with them, wish I could have been in Key West Florida to see Jeff, yesterday too!

I actually did a scrap book - mini Maya Road in 2 days for some friends we saw last night. I love using stuff and putting it to good use. I should keep scrappin while the juices are flowing. Have a great day

Ordinary Life

Ordinary can be so good. Rich just continues to feel better and better and life is life and just feels so much better. He is actually out taking a little cruise on his bicycle this nice bright sunny southern California day. Jeff is outside of Miami Florida and almost to his final destination Key West Florida we are so proud of what he has accomplished. Check it out on the link.

He and Mike made the EUNICE newspaper in Lousiana. We received a copy from the paper - I will see if I can find a link since the scaner is well.... scanned out and it would be fun to share the article and picture! Talking to him the other day on the phone and he told me about all the BIG snakes in Florida. He was trying to film one next to the road started to lose control of his bike by the snake which was a rattle snake and fell on the ground not to far from it. BOYS and crawl things, even at 30 they never grow up. Sometimes I just thank GOD that I hear these stories after they are over and everyone is safe.... Michael and Meghan leave for St. Thomas tomorrow. They so need this trip and travel time. Michael working hard and Meghan trying to kick her cancer! I am so excited to get my first email pictures and here how they think it compares to Hawaii. Is it fair to compare the two? They are both Paradise.

Off to play some tennis today hoping the tennis elbow isn't to bad and then off for a late birthday lunch celebration with a friend, who also just recently had her birthday. I am making her a mini album for their family (big family) trip to Maui in August. It won't be quite done and it has no pictures obviously but it is amazingly cute. I will take pictures and post some. One page is a pocket page using the Rusty Pickle Island line from last year and the tags are surfboards. How cute is that... Have a blessed sunny day everyone.

REMISSION

REMISSION..... you are cancer free and we don't need to see you for 3 months.... AMAZING words. God does answer prayers and I know we had lots of people praying for us. People I don't even know, that is why (to me) prayer can be so amazing. It is true even though it is still sinking in that Rich's lymphoma is currently gone and he is in remission! It is like walking around in dark sun glasses and then you take them off and it is so much brighter! It is a busy Monday morning so off I go to get started. I will try and post a picture later of Rich and his doctor and his physician's assistant I took yesterday after we received the GOOD NEWS. Thank you everyone near and far and may God Bless you with a great week.
